Olivier Matuti voit le jour le 18 août 1973 a Kinshasa cadet d’une famille de sept enfants, il s’intéresse au dessin dès son plus jeune âge. Encourage par son père qui l’inscrit aux humanités artistiques,Matuti poursuit ses études supérieures à l’académie des Beaux-arts de Kinshasa dont il sort diplômé en peinture en 1999.
L’œuvre de Matuti se nourrit à deux mamelles. D’une part, les conventions académiques d’inspiration occidentale ; d’autres part, diverses éléments tirés de l’Art africain.
Aujourd’hui en étant citoyen du monde , Olivier se sert de son bagage d’Artiste africain contemporain.Cette boîte à outils est remplie des références à la sculpture et aux arts graphiques africains anciens qui sont pour l’artiste la présence vivante de ses racines. Sur son nouveau terreau de création, Olivier fait pousser des jardins aux vert subtils et parfois des fleurs délicates. Son art est presque paisible, et on dirait (zen). C’est une manière pour lui d’essayer de faire de réforme plastiques en profondeur, sans brusquer le public .
Une révolution tranquille, il aborde la problématique de l’expression contemporaine ouvrire des voies radicalement nouvelles à l’art des générations actuelle et future.

Olivier Matuti was born on the eighteenth of August 1973 in the capital city of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Youngest of seven siblings, he is attracted to drawing from his tender age. Encouraged by his father, who enrolled him at the Academy of fine Arts of Kinshasa, he graduates in 1999
Olivier Matuti’s, work is nourished by two poles. On one hand, western-inspired academic convention and one the other, a diversity of elements inspired by African Art.
In Europe, Olivier uses his background as a contemporary African artist. This toolkit is filled with references to ancient African sculpture and graphic arts that are for the artist the living presence of his roots.
On his new Creative soil, Olivier grows gardens with subtle shades of greens and sometimes delicate flowers.

To impregnate himself with the International art scenes, he visits the galleries. It is on the side of the decorative arts that he finds his new way.

Olivier Matuti wurde am 18.August 1973 in der Hauptstadt der Demokratischen Republik Kongo geboren. Als jüngster von sieben Geschwister, zieht es ihn schon ganz früh im Schulalter, zum Zeichnen. Ermutigt von seinem Vater, der ihm an der Akademie der bildenden Kunst von Kinshasa einschrieb, schloss er 1999 sein Studium ab. Matuti´s Werk wird von zwei Polen genährt: Einerseits, westlich inspirierte, akademische Konvention und anderseits eine Vielfalt von Elementen, die von afrikanischer Kunst inspiriert sind. In Europa nutzt Olivier Matuti seinen Hintergrund als zeitgenössischer afrikanische Künstler, dieser ist geprägt von Skulpturen und Symbolen des Kontinentes Afrika, die für ihn als Künstler lebendige Präsenz seiner Wurzeln darstellt. Auf seinen neuen kreativen Boden baut sich Matuti manchmal Gärten mit subtilen Tönen. Gibt Skulpturen durch seine Farbgestaltung einen neuen Glanz. Umspielt in seinen Werken das Alltägliche Leben mit starken Kontrasten und Farben.
